Continuing in my Gossip Girl narrative, this is the continuum and second post of my shoot with Shanté Grossett. Two is better than one as we know and I’m all for an outfit change.
My second look and possibly my favorite of the two is a sporty moment. Lately all I’ve been wearing casually are my FILA foundation pants and joggers. For this street wear look, I embraced the ‘shacket’ in a different fashion and feel.

In putting together this ‘fit, I kept in mind materials—keeping fabrics soft with soft. Since the joggers are of course a windbreaker shape and feel, I chose a silk blazer in a floral print, really emphasizing its softness and fluidity. Because the jacket hem falls at my hips, hitting the elasticized waistline of my joggers, my blazer leans towards a boxy silhouette, lacking structure. To shape my top half, I emphasized my bust by layering with a brassiere in a textured velvet and v-neckline.
Still soft to the touch, I doubled up with a satiny duster coat in black. This coat also lacks structure as it swings away from my body, ideally not concealing the outfit itself—acting as a mere third piece.
A minimalist when it comes to accessories, my silver electroform hoops complemented the diamonte strip detailing on my joggers.

Yes a lot of thought and effort went into a simple two SS ‘fits and ya know, it was well worth it. Shanté Grossett was not only a joy to work with, her talent and passion shine through in her sharp eye for detail, direction and composition. She captured every facet and priceless expression in split seconds of-a moment. Street-crossings and taxi-spottings, Shanté knows a woman’s clothing, blogger’s style and catches the feel of it all. I have Shanté to thank for fantastic fashion content and a fun memory.
