Western boots resurfaced greatly this past year. Along with combat boots, they are the chosen choice for a little edge to your flirty. Always sold in Free People stores, this timeless shoe style has spread to the East Coast. Add a pointy-toe embossed upper and you’re the biggest baddy in town.
Sure the cowboy boot comes in its original, boldest form but the western prairie style has been adapted to understated, more versatile versions too. Perhaps this gives you incentive to wear your new ankle boots with anything you desire. Here’s how I wear my Schutz Oceanna Embossed Ankle Boots.

Opposites attract. Therefore, I mixed a fluid, glossy, feminine tie-waist midi skirt I stalked online via the Zara Sale. Because the skirt is so va-va-va-luminous I went bodycon for the upper body. Never underestimate the power of a simple ribbed black turtleneck sweater. As for a jacket, you can go both ways–cropped, long-line, even puffer. I completed my look with a regular hemmed vintage leather blazer I found on Etsy. With a sling of tassels across my body, the multi-colored strands gave me extra whimsy on a wintry day.

To my excitement and honest surprise, the weather was quite nice this week. And we all know red and black go together like a heart and spade: hand in deck. Again, I wore my Schutz boots this time with a leopard midi Zara dress, tights, and bold gold accented accessories.
