It’s February 1st. Which for a girl means something more. Today marks the 1st day of National Eating Disorder Awareness Month. Unemployed Denim has partnered with Girls, Inc., taking on another issue that is too common—Body Image. Through our partnership, our mission is to promote self-love and a healthy body image.
A healthy body image can easily be distorted by incessant comparison to classmates, friends, siblings, the media, etc. And this distortion leads to self loathing and long term damage of not just the physical but serious mental fragility.
★ Anorexia Nervosa has the highest mortality rate of any mental illness. Self love isn’t a trend, it’s a way of living that starts early on and starts with loving your body—taking care of your body—and feeding your mind with esteem. This is for the girls in their corner and across the country, because this illness can start during puberty but last into adulthood.
How You Can Help:
Unemployed Denim has designed a t-shirt to raise awareness and money for Girls, Inc. to continue to teach and educate girls about this important issue. We’re Committed II. The purpose of national eating disorder awareness week is to put life-saving resources into the hands of those in need.
Each special Committed II custom t-shirt below is crafted with unity as a reminder to stay committed to yourself and your health. $5 of every purchase will be donated directly to Girls, Inc. Commit II something meaningful. Mine’s in the mail.
